Historic: Republic of Rhodesia (1965-1979)
Rhodesia was a British colony in Southern Africa that declared unilateral independence in 1965, governed by a white-minority regime. It remained unrecognized until 1980, when it became Zimbabwe after the Rhodesian Bush War and the end of white-minority rule.
The flag of Rhodesia (1964-1980) featured green, white, and gold stripes with a red and black Zimbabwe Bird emblem. Green symbolized land, white represented peace, gold stood for resources, and red and black reflected the struggle for independence.
