Hungary's history dates back to its establishment in the 9th century by the Magyars. It became a powerful kingdom under Saint Stephen in the early 11th century. Over the centuries, Hungary faced invasions and wars, including the Ottoman occupation in the 16th century. Following the Austrian-Hungarian Empire formation in 1867, Hungary was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until its collapse after World War I. The Treaty of Trianon in 1920 significantly reduced Hungary's territory. After WWII, Hungary became a communist state under Soviet influence, which resulted in the failed Hungarian revolution of 1957. Hungary remained part of the UDSSR until 1989.

The Hungarian flag, established during the Revolution of 1848 and reinstated in 1956, consists of horizontal red, white, and green stripes. Red signifies strength and bravery, white represents freedom, and green symbolizes hope and the land..
