France was established as a powerful medieval kingdom, and after various dynastic changes, became a republic in 1792 following the French Revolution. The country underwent several political transformations, including the rise and fall of empires.

The flag, known as the Tricolore, was adopted in 1794 and features three vertical stripes of blue, white, and red. The blue and red represent the people of Paris and the revolution, while white symbolizes the monarchy. The flag embodies the values of liberty, equality, and fraternity.
